Pastor John Newton

As a kid growing up in a Christian home, the importance of God’s word, the value of the church, and the respect for God’s people really made a great impact on me.  When our home began to reflect the love of Christ there was opened to me a vast, new and wonderful group of people that I had the opportunity to know and love

D.L. Moody said “The best way to show that a stick is crooked is not to argue about it or to spend time denouncing it, but to lay a straight stick alongside it.”  We need to hold onto the truth of the scriptures.  The world is in desperate need of seeing the truth lived out in the lives of believers.  2 Timothy 3:1-7, "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:  (2) For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,  (3)  unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,  (4)  traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,  (5)  having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!  (6)  For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,  (7)  always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
